Emily’s Entourage to Take-Over 2015 Philadelphia Marathon for Second Year

In the cystic fibrosis (“CF”) community, the simple, often involuntary, act of taking a breath resonates deeply. Among other symptoms, CF patients deal with the buildup of mucus in their lungs leading to lung infections, difficulty breathing, and overall decreased lung function.

For most people with CF, taking a big, deep breath is a dream. It’s fitting, then, that Emily’s Entourage will be taking over the Philadelphia Marathon — as Team EE — once again this year. To complete the arduous 26.2 mile course, runners must possess incredible strength, endurance, perseverance, and… of course, deep breathing.

Last year, 13 runners dedicated themselves to running on behalf of Emily’s Entourage and raised over $12,000. We were incredibly proud and so grateful! This year, we are aiming even higher with more runners helping us raise more money and awareness.

As part of Team EE, runners receive a shirt, an energy boosting pre-race dinner, and support from some of the most enthusiastic (but peaceful!) fans Philadelphia has ever seen!

Runners can choose between the half and full marathon, and we ask that those running the half commit to raising $750 and those running the full commit to $1500. We will be there for you each step of the way, including setting up a Fundly page to help with your fundraising efforts.

Together, we can reach the finish line — propelled by our passionate quest to let Emily, and everyone with CF, finally take a deep breath.
