Emily’s Entourage Hosts 10th Annual Evening With Emily’s Entourage Drive-in Gala, “The Power of 10,” Celebrating 10 Years of Impact and Nearly $10 Million Raised
Pennsylvania-based nonprofit has funded 22 research grants and secured $37.6+ million in follow-on funding to speed breakthroughs for people with nonsense mutations of cystic fibrosis
Lower Merion, PA — Emily’s Entourage, an innovative 501(c)3 foundation that accelerates research for new treatments and a cure for nonsense mutations of cystic fibrosis (CF), will host its 10th annual Evening with Emily’s Entourage drive-in gala, “The Power of 10,” on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at 8 p.m. at Adath Israel, 250 North Highland Avenue, Merion Station, PA.
Traditionally a formal gala, the event will take on a new drive-in format this year that will allow guests to socialize safely for an exciting and unique anniversary celebration. The event will kick off with a special message from Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer at Meta, followed by live entertainment, and highly anticipated remarks by Emily Kramer-Golinkoff, co-founder, Emily’s Entourage. Movie theater-style refreshments will be provided.
Since its founding in 2011, Emily’s Entourage has funded 22 research grants, secured $37.6+ million in follow-on funding, created a nonsense mutation patient registry and clinical trial matchmaking program to speed clinical trial recruitment, and launched a CF gene therapy company, Spirovant (formerly Talee Bio), that has since been acquired and is moving two mutation-agnostic therapies towards clinic.
“Emily’s Entourage is proof that change starts with one person, with one community, that dreams of a better future and has the audacity to believe that future is up to them — because it is,” said Kramer-Golinkoff. “Back in 2011, as we dreamt up Emily’s Entourage on our living room floor, we never could have never imagined where we find ourselves today. Despite the odds, we have emerged as a worldwide leader, speeding lifesaving research and drug development for the final 10% of the cystic fibrosis community that does not benefit from currently available mutation-targeted therapies.”
The Evening with Emily’s Entourage drive-in gala is made possible by “Presenting” sponsor, Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc.; “Amethyst” sponsor, Viatris; and “Violet” sponsors, AbbVie, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Enterprise Therapeutics Ltd, Spirovant Sciences, and Translate Bio, A Sanofi Company; among others. Lorri and Ted Bernstein will be recognized as honorary co-chairs.
Funds raised through this year’s event propel Emily’s Entourage’s singular mission to speed lifesaving new treatments and a cure for the final 10% of the CF community, including those with rare nonsense mutations.
