On June 13, 2018, Emily’s Entourage took to New York City for the third annual #EENY event: Generation Next Presents A Night Out With Emily’s Entourage. This year, EENY crossed the river and hit the town in Manhattan at Marquee New York. And WOW, it electrified!
Through a partnership with Generation NXT, the evening began with a delicious dinner at Bottino restaurant for VIP Sponsors, followed by a seriously energetic and crowded night at Marquee Nightclub. The attendance grew to well over 500 (!!) strong, an all-time EE record.
The night was powerful, energetic and tons of fun, but make no mistake—the Entourage meant business. The event raised over $149,000+ (and counting) to accelerate breakthroughs and a cure for nonsense mutations of Cystic Fibrosis!
There were so many highlights that it is hard to narrow them down.
EE’s A-team of volunteers pulled out all the stops on food and decorations. There was sushi from Blue Ribbon, a full oyster display from West Robins Oyster Company, White Castle burgers, pizza from Sauce, Baked by Melissa cupcakes, Insomnia Cookies and so much more. The drinks were flowin’ thanks to generous donations by Tito’s Vodka, Célange, Lagunitas, Montauk, Broken Bow Brewery, the list goes on. Not to mention drinks were served by an aerial bartender spinning around from the ceiling! Yes, you read that right.
While guests were there to eat, drink and have a good time, the message of Emily’s Entourage was at the forefront. Every napkin, straw and sign in Marquee displayed serious purple pride and had a message designed to make sure that finding a cure for CF was top on everyone’s minds.
The entertainment at this year’s event was off the charts! The Mirmir photo booth had lines upon lines of people waiting to get their Kardashian-approved pictures taken, all with the #EENY hashtag ready to spread the word. The DJs Chopstix Mami, DeModa, and Branchez kept everyone moving, and live graffiti artist Ian Sullivan made a stunning display right before our eyes!
Guests did take a moment to hear from event co-chairs Coby Kramer-Golinkoff and Nick Levy from Generation NXT, and from EE’s very own Emily to introduce the Gen NXT newbies to Emily’s Entourage and the mission of the organization.
The audience got to see the 2018 campaign video and the crowd was completely enthralled. It is rare that you can hear a pin drop in a packed nightclub, but that is exactly what happened as they spoke.
The message? The time to find a cure for CF is NOW and it is up to us to lead that revolution.
