Where in the World is Emily of Emily’s Entourage?

Where in the world is Emily?? That’s the question we were asking ourselves all week! It seems like lately there’s never a dull moment, and this week was certainly no exception!

On Monday, Emily was in Washington, DC where she was a plenary speaker at the 4th Annual Consumer Health IT Summit! The conference was sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It highlighted efforts to advance patient engagement by empowering people with their digital health data and technology. Emily provided a personal account of the role of technology in her own health and care.

On Tuesday, Emily continued her patient advocacy back in Philadelphia, where she participated in a panel discussion at the ePatient Connections 2014 conference — or “#ePatCon2014” as it is known on social media. This conference brings together multiple stakeholders from across disciplines to showcase industry’s best practices to connect and strengthen relations with ePatients. Emily’s panel discussion focused on the use of social media platforms to connect, equip, engage and empower ePatients.
