Groundbreaking Non-Profit Raises Critical Funds for Cystic Fibrosis through First-Ever Virtual Campaign
Lower Merion, PA — Emily’s Entourage (EE), an innovative 501(c)3 foundation that has raised millions since 2011 to speed research and drug development for Cystic Fibrosis (CF), presents “The Magic Line” Virtual Video Premiere and Campaign Launch üzerinde Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 8pm ET.
In light of COVID-19, EE has converted its signature Emily'nin Çevresiyle Akşam gala, which raises over $800,000 annually, into a reimagined, new, virtual format. The result is an immersive, multimedia campaign called Sihirli Hat: A Virtual Campaign to Conquer the Final CF Summit that launches with the Video Premiere event on December 8th. The event raises critical funds to speed life-saving medical breakthroughs and a cure for those with nonsense mutation of CF who do not benefit from currently available mutation-targeted therapies.
The Video Premiere features the debut of EE’s 2021 campaign video, a compelling conversation about reaching new heights with world-class mountaineer and motivational speaker, Adrian Ballinger, moving testimonials from the CF community, and remarks from EE Co-Founder, Emily Kramer-Golinkoff. “The Magic Line” theme is inspired by a route to the top of K2, the last of the most elite, 8,000+ meter mountains to be summited in the winter. It is a metaphor for EE’s urgent mission to speed breakthroughs and a cure for the final 10% of the CF community without targeted therapies—the final summit of CF.

EE was founded in 2011 by Emily, her family and friends as they decided to take action into their own hands to find breakthroughs and a cure for those with nonsense mutations of CF, a fatal genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Nonsense mutations, while rare among those with CF, are the cause of approximately 12% of all genetic diseases, affecting roughly 30 million people around the world. The impact of EE’s revolutionary research and drug development has the potential to extend far beyond the CF community to those with a wide variety of genetic diseases caused by nonsense mutations, including certain forms of muscular dystrophy, blood disorders and even some forms of cancer.
