Lines of Connection, Paths to Progress: This CF Awareness Month, It’s Time to #CrossOutCF
Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month 2025 is here, and at Emily’s Entourage (EE), we’re celebrating the unwavering spirit of the cystic fibrosis (CF) community. This month is fueled by grit, courage, and the relentless “no-quit” attitude that defines the CF community, driving us toward one clear, unyielding goal: a world where no one has to live with CF.
Each year, EE embraces the theme “Cross Out CF”—a bold commitment to finish the job and ensure that every person with CF has a lifesaving therapy of their own. No exceptions. No excuses. This year, we’re going further, focusing on the power of lines as vital connections within the CF community’s rich mosaic of perspectives and experiences, and as pathways of progress towards our shared goal. While the CF community shares a defective gene, it also defines itself by its resilience, ingenuity, and unshakable determination to build a future free from CF.
A Month of Connection, Perspective, and Possibility
Throughout May, we’re diving into what it truly means to be part of the CF community—celebrating varied, nuanced, and powerful stories, from a range of global perspectives. This month is about amplifying the lived experiences that shape the CF community. We’ll explore how CF intersects with identity, innovation, and connection while confronting the barriers that remain. With one unwavering mission—to cross out CF for good—we’ll elevate the voices of individuals and families whose stories fuel this movement forward.
This is a celebration of our collective strength, diverse perspectives, and the relentless quest for a future free from CF.
- Of those with CF who turn their personal challenges into action, leading the charge by advocating for themselves and the CF community.
- Of the dreamers and the doers who create beauty in the face of adversity.
- Of the endlessly driven parents who move mountains to give their child everything she needs to thrive—no matter what it takes.
- Of the researchers driven by personal loss, who dedicate their lives to turning the latest science into innovative therapies.
And of those in the final 10%, who are courageously holding on to hope and moving forward while waiting for their breakthrough.
Each of these voices is the heartbeat of this movement. These are the people that drive us. These are the stories that inspire us. This is the community that is banding together to create a future where we cross out CF for 100% of the CF community—with nobody left behind.
