Cue the Rocky Theme song— because Philadelphia’s finest champions are only weeks away from hitting the ring. The Emily’s Entourage 2017 Champions Campaign has made it’s way back to Philadelphia and our 18 Champions are working tirelessly to reach (and exceed!) their fundraising goal of $1,500 per team by the annual Evening with Emily’s Entourage Gala on December 2nd. This Champion squad is bigger and better than ever, and they are ready to give CF their best one-two punches! The 2017 team includes high school and college students, husbands and wives, a best friend international duo, and even a seven year old. Collectively, they are crushing goals and the race is on for who will be named the “Emily’s Entourage Philadelphia Champion of the Year”. So let’s get to the main event, and put your hands together, as we officially introduce our 2017 EE Champions. <\/p>\n

Why Jesse Got Involved In EE: “<\/strong>This year I’ve gotten to a position in my career where I feel like I could realistically raise a significant amount of money, and that’s an opportunity that I’m not willing to waste when the need is so immediate and dire. The poker community has proven itself to be remarkably philanthropic in recent months, and it’s time for me to tap into this resource on behalf of EE.”<\/p>\n

Our students know firsthand about the challenges and difficulties life can often present and that a strong and supportive community can be the difference in changing a life. Why Chloe & Emma Got Involved In EE: <\/strong>“There are so many reasons why! First, we, together, like to defeat our limits: we need to take up to something bigger than ourselves! Also, we want to make the world realize, first how strong-willed we both are, and to show everyone how strong the bonds of friendship can be. <\/span>Secondly, we’ve accepted the challenge to make the world understand the importance of individual actions: this world desperately seeks actors, not spectators! Also because we believe it is our duty to make this world a better place to live. Last but not least, of course, because we’ve been deeply touched by Emily’s story: it is one that must not and moreover SHOULD NOT leave anyone indifferent! Plus, Liza has always had such kind words for us!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Alexa Got Involved In EE:<\/strong> “I have known people with CF for my entire life, and now have spent lots of time learning about the disease in school as it has many dental manifestations that effect oral health and therefore will affect my patients in the future. I first learned about Emily’s Entourage as a student at Tulane University, where I became friends with Coby and Julia and attended all of the campus EE events. I was immediately inspired by Emily\u2019s story and how incredible this organization and family is. I’ve stayed up-to-date with EE news, and now that I’m in the city where it all started, it’s important to me to share Emily\u2019s story and get my family, friends, and dental network aware of the groundbreaking work of the Entourage.”<\/p>\n
